Acting & Scene Work

Much like our action program and our Taekwondo program, Quiet Flame's Acting Program focuses on developing the actor by utilizing multiple instructors from different methods to allow the student to not just find what techniques and methods work best for them, but also blazing their own unique trail in terms of how they develop and hone their acting instrument. Each instructor teaches with a different method ranging from Strasberg to Meisner to Improv and students are encouraged to learn methods from all of them.

The Tuesday class focuses on utilizing the Strasberg Method and the evocation of sense memory. It serves as a guide to your inner self, and focuses on helping you to find the inspiration for your characters from within.

In contrast, the first 3 Sunday classes of the month focus on the Meisner Method of being in the moment and reacting to your fellow scene partner. The last Sunday of the month focuses on improv scene work and monologues.

Instead of set courses, all of the classes run and operate on a weekly long term basis, allowing the student to not just develop and grow over a long period, but to build a relationship of trust and mentorship with their instructors as well.
