Almost There

Audience Feedback from the  Action/Adventure Film Festival.

"Almost There" was a short made to be Quiet Flame's first official film.

As a project, it was made with 4 objectives in mind:

1) To be a visual depiction of the struggle of refugees as told through the lens of fight choreography. Additionally, on a larger scale, to showcase the Quiet Flame style of storytelling; intelligent, socially-conscious commentary in the context of action cinema.

2) To showcase a traditional Japanese weapon rarely used in modern film fighting, (the Yari, or Japanese spear) but to do so in a modern context.

3) To create a historically accurate depiction of how the weapon was used (often held above the head and used to attack the legs to take away mobility)

4) To tell a deeply human, and universally understandable story, and to do so without a single word of dialog.
